Men’s and Women’s 4x100m Relay Finals: Preview, Schedule, and How to Watch the Action Live!

In the 4x100m relay finals on Friday, August 9, the United States will attempt a double gold medal after both teams posted the fastest times on Thursday in Paris 2024.

The men’s team from the United States is hoping to atone for their defeat in Tokyo 2020. The USA placed sixth in their heat and missed out on the men’s 4×100-meter relay final three years prior.

Since then, they have made amends on the World Championship stage, taking home the gold in Budapest last year. Noah Lyles was a member of the winning foursome and is now aiming for another gold in Paris in 2024.

With their fastest time in the preliminaries of 37.47 on Thursday, the men’s team from the United States advanced to the 4×100-meter relay final. Lyles was not present because he was competing in the 200-meter final that evening.

Italy, the defending Olympic champions, barely made it through their heat on Thursday, finishing fifth, while Great Britain and South Africa both had impressive second and third-fastest times, respectively.

With silver medalist Sha’Carri Richardson and newly crowned 200-meter champion Gabrielle Thomas on the team, the USA may not win the women’s 4×100-meter relay final on Friday.
